Totally off topic - 'my' cats
Debi, Jr. has gone nuts with uploading pics to his facebook page...here are the strays that we feed (we take them in and get them fixed and let them back out...can't keep em inside b/c of allergies)

From the left: Calamity Jane, D.B., Booger, Blondie, 'Mom' (all of the kittens are from her) and Little Sassy.

We were never able to capture Mom and she kept getting pregnant - this last time I was able to grab her as she was having her last batch (four little orange babies) and we brought them all to the Humane Society - I hope they found homes.

There are two more not in the pic - Mighty Mouse and Sassy, Sr. - All the females are spayed now and only two males are left 'intact' (they are harder to catch).

Here's another view with Booger and Blondie looking up at me:

What spoiled brats...er...cats.

2. I wish we could find them homes but they are VERY inbred feral cats
and a little on the nutty side. That's what we get for living in the country. Over the last six years or so we've tried to get the pregnant ones inside while they were giving birth and then keep them cooped up on our sun porch for six weeks. We find homes for the kittens and get momma cat spayed (if we can't find her a home) and the out the door with her.

3. Kitties!!
Stray cats are a mixed bag. They can either be like outdoor house cats, or little cougars, depending on their personalities. These look like pretty normal cats.

I miss my cat... and pets as a general rule.

6. Are you not able to have pets where you live?
That would be hard.

7. Landlord says no pets.
We can have fish, but I would rather have a plant than a fish. My roommate and I really wanted to get a cat, but no dice.

9. Fish aren't that bad.
About 6 years ago my kids whined that they wanted an aquarium.
So Santa brought one.

Of course, it's been mom who has taken care of the fish.

But what really surprised me was to learn that fish have personality!
We had one that was a busybody. A beautiful zebra striped angel fish that would watch everything we would do. I actually cried when she died. Another fish that is completely insecure and hides in the corner all of the time, shakes when I walk by.

Fish are fun!
And cleaning the tank isn't too bad if you're willing to spend about $20 and get an aquarium vacuum that hooks up to your sink.

Just my thoughts, for whatever their worth :)

10. Maybe I just like plants
I've been growing plants for years, so I'm used to having plants. Currently, I don't have any plants in my apartment either.

I'm also used to animals I can pet. I've had cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits, and all three I can sit down and pet. I can't do that with a fish.

Oh well, once I'm done with undergraduate, I'll move and then get a cat or a rabbit (or both).

4. So adorable!!
I love cats, but I don't like the hair in my house, and where I live, they can't just live outside. :(

8. Hah! Little Sassy is about 1/2 that size! She's so petite and has this itty bitty whine
when it's feeding time. We're allowed to pet her when she's eating, otherwise she's off limits. She was easy to grab to have spayed. Just put the food out and then picked her up by the scruff and dropped her in the carrier.

Love having the cats out there since they make sure there are no mice in our house!

11. What great shot! But honestly,
Booger? You named a cat Booger?? ;)

I would love to see a pic of Mighty Mouse! How did a cat get that name? Might Mouser I could understand. :)

You are a dear for spaying & neutering them!
