1. Small sample
<If it is indeed to be Biden, the country will be lucky too and Obama will get some credit from those of us who doubt his governing ability. He really needs solid credentials that transcend the thin veil of grandiose rhetoric that inspires huge crowds, mostly the young and rock-star influenced.

And, unlike Hillary, Biden would not take much away from the Obama glamour. Biden would serve not as an evil Dick Cheney, but as a very useful advisor at Obama's side. If, of course, Obama will listen.>

2. What a nice post --
And I DO think Obama would listen. He's smart. He DID say he wanted someone who wouldn't be afraid to disagree with him. I think Joe's got that requirement covered. :7

4. This is a curious statement --
"He's just not a charismatic guy, which might be some of his appeal to Obama, who hates real competition in the rhetorical arena."

Joe's not charismatic? Has this writer ever seen people light up when Joe looks their way? People all over him when he was campaigning in small venues?

And I think Obama - or anyone in that position - would't care for real competition in the rhetorical areas. As we've discussed before, Joe has been a model surrogate.

I used to hate the P-I when I was in Seattle. It was a stupid newspaper -- The Seattle Times was the good one.

I remember a big headline in the P-I "Nancy Reagan miffed by Raisa Gorbachev's glamorous wardrobe." Hard hitting news! Nancy Reagan MIFFED!

But I'll cut them some slack for this piece.

5. That is kind of odd
I think a lot of people haven't really seen Biden on the stump. His firefighters speech won over a lot of skeptical people I know.

But obviously they have never heard Biden speak.

I LOVE your new sig line. Never saw that drawing of Biden.
Very nicely done.

Edit to add - and I love that saying too.
