wonder what Biden will say about McCain's comments on surge->awakening
McCain's messing up the timeline (saying the surge was why the local awakening movements started) - many posts on DU right now about, and in the video forum. Also icky because CBS edited the video - but forgot to edit the rush transcript. Ooops.

Now, most Americans don't know the order of events, and I have trouble keeping it all straight so I don't know if I would have caught the goof myself.

But I'll be REALLY interested to hear Biden's response to it.

1. This is cool --

Anderson Cooper ran the clip and did a bit on it, KO did a bit on it, and AP has picked it up (don't know which thread you linked to - haven't looked yet.)

I hope this gets wall to wall coverage -- especially the way McCain was so SUPERIOR in his comment. The weasel.

And as I asked on one of the threads -- has CBS been asked why they cut that part of the interview? :grr:

EDIT: And you're right - I would LOVE to hear what Joe says about this.

I was thinking when I was watching this and also the interview with Meredith V where he was just pathetic -- I sincerely wonder if those who know him (like Joe) are becoming concerned about his mental faculties. He's getting so confused.

2. Very confused indeed
It isn't an occasional misstep. He's making a lot of mistakes that indicate a lack of mental clarity. He's just not all there anymore. He clearly could not handle the pressures of the presidency. Just the thought of him in the White House is really scary. I can't even imagine him giving the State of the Union address.

3. You state it well --
lack of mental clarity, and that he could not handle the pressures of the presidency. :scared:

6. Thanks for the visual -
now whenever I add to my compost pile, I will think of McCain :P
yep - he's a batch of rotted vegetables and twigs baking in the Arizona sun!

Actually quite appropriate!

7. ?? Things rot in Arizona?
I thought moisture was necessary for rot and composting. Doesn't everything just mummify in Arizona?

11. Didn't you know that I am a mummy?
Seriously - Arizona is a great place to make compost.
The heat makes everything bake really quickly.

12. You're so cute. And a proud mummy, no doubt ! Mummy Pride. I love it.
Really, though, you must be adding water. And some nitrogen?

13. Yeah - I add water every few days this time of year.
Not nitrogen tho. Do you think it needs it? I just figured that with all of the organic nutrients that go into it that it wouldn't need any additional nutrients

In the winter/spring it takes alot longer to decompose. This is the first summer that I had a compost bin and I love it. I put something in there, and poof...it's mud :P

Maybe I should change my avatar to this:

It's a mummy fish!

14. If you're getting good results,
don't mess with success. Additional nitrogen will usually speed up the process. But it's better to have a well balanced mix that "works" well on its own. Sounds like you're doing fine. Where I live in western Oregon, "rot is". I live for the smell of decomposing cellulose; the aroma of fungus at work...I think it all must give off psychoactive humors. Blessed be.

15. "I live for the smell of decomposing cellulose"
hahaha. Such a lovely smell.

I'll try the nitrogen in the winter when composting is slow.

17. the greener stuff you add will have more nitrogen, the browner stuff more carbon
There are recipes out there for getting your N:C ratio just right, but common sense goes a long way. Too much N and things can get too hot/wet/mushy, too little N and your bacteria and fungi are growing slowly because they're N-limited.
