I am a recovering Bidenite and am so saddened by the conniving that is going on here at DU about the Edwards supporters. Posters are caculating strategies on how best to convince Edwards folks to change to Clinton or Obama. :cry: I know this is the big time and I may be emotional about it, but it just seems so sad - calculated moves to convince. Why not let people be sad and then make their own choice when they are ready?

and in spite of all the nastiness I've seen at GDP the past month, I never thought people would stoop this low.

Well in the end, there will only be one Democratic nominee, so there are a bunch of folks at GDP who will be in the same boat. I wonder how much sympathy they will be expecting.

That's what gets me. People keep referring to the newbies, but most of the snarky behavior is coming from long-time DU'ers who should know better.

Equally offensive are the people who express half-hearted sympathy while trying to recruit them to their candidate. That's like going to a funeral and hitting on the spouse of the deceased.

are people who push people to "get on with their lives" shortly after a major loss. Most people don't work that way. Some things take time.

I was surprised to see, as Corona put it, the vultures swoop in today.

I've always felt that the great majority of DUers are good people who always come together for a good cause (Operation Mind Crime, for example). And even though there is support and sympathy for JE's supporters today, the amount of ugliness was shocking.

I agree -- sad is the word.

and...how shall I say this.....for every action, there's a reaction. I have never ben one to 'keep things inside'. And I also have a strong inclination for all things being equal. Leveling the playing field, if you will. ;-)

Oh, sure I know, 'turn the other cheek' and all that...but there will be time for that later on.
