Ted Kennedy just endorsed Obama. I'm still hoping Joe DOESN'T endorse
anybody. My real concern is that if he DOESN'T endorse Clinton and she becomes Prez, he'll be marginalized in her administration. I've heard over and over they never forgive or forget.

6. yeah, I agree - they hate Ted K. like they hate the Clintons
even if it's not justified, and even if Ted has actually worked with Repubs on policy issues to get things done.

I'm not crazy about all these endorsements - do they really help Dem. voters decide, or just create fodder for the other side? I'm afraid it helps the wackos who hate Kerry, Kennedy, etc.

4. Clinton would NEED Joe to forge a descent foreign policy.
From what I've "observed" they seem to get along well. Edwards was the only one I have ever heard Joe kind of sound contemptuous of. Confession---I use to listen to Imus and Joe was one of Imus's favorite guests. Joe once said "Edwards doesn't know what the hell he is talking about". It was in the same way that Joe dissed Rumsfeld.

He probably has a bit more respect for Clinton. Clinton has made a lot of trips to Iraq. Obama has made just one, and Edwards made a big fat "0" when he was a Senator. Co-sponsored the war resolution with Lieberman and then never traveled there ONCE, even though he represents a state with a lot of military fighting over there.

5. except there's the Bill factor and the Iran vote
I think she really pissed off Biden with that vote. And I think Joe might work with Hill but I don't know about Bill - didn't he way one time that he would overshadow things? Can't remember if that was about VP or Sec of State or what.

13. And Pakistan...
Joe didn't seem too impressed with Hillary when she didn't understand Pakistan's elections. I think him calling her out would have pissed the Clintons off a little bit, because she was trying to take the spotlight with Bhutto's assassination, and being corrected about Musharraf and the election system made her look slightly inexperienced.

16. He also went nuts when Obama announced to the world that he would invade Pakistan.
Me thinks he thinks they are both idiots.

17. yeah, that was a bad one
in general you want the candidates to tell you what they will do in office - but laying out triggers for an plans for military action in a currently volatile country - um, no!

9. Joe has said that he and Hillary have ben "confidantes" for a long time, so I have
no doubt they'd work well together. I was just rambling thinking if he were to endorse O (which I don't see happening) and HRC became Prez, she wouldn't forget that "betrayal'. That's how I view the Clintons, and totally admit I might be wrong.

I LOVED Imus -- that's where I first heard Joe and thought ' here's a guy who tells it like it is'. Joe also mentioned Imus in a talk about the appalling lack of care our vets receive -- that Imus was helping to raise private money so amputees injured in service to our country could get state of the art prosthetics -- our government wouldn't pay for it. Also, Imus had Lou Dobbs on and told him about this organization, and Lou Dobbs mentioned it on CNN that night. I think Imus does a LOT of good, cranky old fart that he is.

11. Joe had a good relationship with Bill Clinton
when he was president. I think he would have a similar one with Hillary.

15. These Senators are idiots and I hope Joe waits it out.
Either Hillary or Obama (or godforbid - both) will be returning to the Senate.
Then what? What if you are John Kerry and you have been mouthing off about the Clintons and all of the sudden you find yourself on a committee with Hillary - how is that good for the democratic party?

I have a real bad feeling about what this election is going to do to the Dems in the future, and to see high profile Senators dividing us up even more makes me sick.

So Joe - please wait it out.

18. The kiss of death?
I think it's best for Joe to not have a horse in the race. There is no need to back a pony in the heats. It serves no purpose except to alienate whomever he doesn't back. Joe's endorsement really means nothing, at best.

19. Joe sounds decided to NOT endorse, IMO.
'The Delaware presidential primary is coming up on Feb. 5. Under the law, I am not able to remove my name from the ballot. But I want to make it clear that I strongly urge all Democrats participating in the primary to cast their vote not for me, but for one of the candidates still actively seeking the nomination. They are Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards.'
