ohhhhhhh -

http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080125/NEWS/801250327/1006/N

WASHINGTON -- Three weeks after abandoning his bid for president, Sen. Joe Biden wasn't in the mood to answer questions about presidential politics at his first Washington news conference since returning to the Senate.

-----------------------------

But unlike another Dem Senator that once ran for President...Biden shows some class:

Another reporter asked for his thoughts on former President Clinton's role and tone in the campaign.

"I have no thoughts about that," the Delaware Democrat said.

anyway - it's kind of a melancholy article about Joe back at work.

5. Yeah, they made it sound (or I interpreted it) like he was kind of dejected -
or pissed.

I was encouraged that it said he perked up when he was asked about Iraq. Can't keep a good man down! His passion is still there -- we're still in good hands.

6. I could visualize him reading his responses
As always the media was looking for something to feed the fire and Biden wouldn't comply. Over the years the media has played up his so-called gaffe machine image and used his personal tragedies for their own gain. He has every right to not trust them now.

18. That's exactly what I thought.
he is being guarded....good for Joe. Let the media starve for a while.

3. I miss Joe! I'm still pretty sad and
at this point haven't been paying much attention to the race at all. I don't really care anymore. I'll vote for the Dem nominee but other then that I could care less. I hate that I'm like this now.

4. I know -- I've come to the conclusion that I won't be able to wholeheartedly
support anybody else, because, as we all know, they are so much less qualified than Joe.

I seem to be trying to find somebody that I'll feel the LEAST depressed about, but even that's hard. If I think "okay, maybe X won't be so bad", then all the reasons come to mind why I DIDN'T support him/her in the first place.

I'm certainly not "involved" anymore.

Cupcakes or nothin!

10. Me too.
No interest at all. SCOTUS will get me to the polls in November, not Clinton/Obama/Edwards.

16. I agree
There is too much at stake right now and we have to have a Dem in the White House and a larger majority in congress. We have plenty of time to recover before the general. Once the republicans pick a nominee, we'll have something to focus our energy on.

7. Wouldn't you love to know what he really thinks??? Bet he could put
a few barbed words together that would take the skin off a snake...lol. You're right, he has more class than that. I, on the other hand.... well..

8. Of course, he knows "barbed words" right now
would not help the party or the country. He wants what is best for the country and he will be working closely with the next president. Experience has made him a wise and thoughtful man.

9. Yeah, but like monmouth, I'd love to be in a private setting with him and
just get his take on this all. I have a feeling I'd be rolling in the aisles -- even though it's a serious matter. Can't help it -- the man is FUNNY!

12. Oh yes
Now that would be a treat - sitting in his living room watching a debate with him! I can hear his voice and see his facial expressions. "Man.....these guys don't know what they're talking about."

15. That one is priceless
A person can say so much with a "look" and he does it so well.

My daughter's favorite moment was during a debate when Biden said, "I don't know what these guys are talking about!"

19. That's so funny....
I was just outside talking to my neighbor, who is black by the way, and he said the media is playing the race card. He also said, and I quote; "Hillary will make a fine president". He liked Bill Clinton, and his economy.

I told him that I no longer had a horse in the race, and that I was so hoping it would be Joe, and he said; "Oh, man, he was so funny"...I said, yeah, and he would have also been great for this country, and he agreed.

17. That he is
We may not see another candidate of his caliber for a long, long time. In the time he was campaigning he was able to elevate the discussion and for that I'm grateful.

24. I'm really proud of him for buttoning his lip.
Even when Jill went after Hillary when Joe conceeded, he told her not to talk like that.

That is pure class.

21. That article makes me want to cry, pirhana.
This guy has so much more going for him than any of the remaining 3 candidates. It's like passing up a feast for a candy bar. This exemplifies why America is in serious trouble. We haven't a clue as to how to solve our problems. Britney Spears and the Super Bowl carry far too much weight for us to find the energy necessary to grapple with running our Democracy.
