2. I can only wish and pray
that there's a brokered convention and everyone says fuck it, let's have Biden - we'll win in a landslide, and the Repubs will absolutely shit their pants.

We all know it. And like I said earlier....it's Obama's faut. Think about it. If he had kept his word and not ran this year, my guess is Biden would be #2 right now, and it would be a whole different game.

5. I wish all 3 of the remainders sat this one out...
...and just made themselves available as VPs while they tried to actually do some things to put on their resumes.

I have to wonder if McCain's rise from the chaos on the GOP side is them realizing "oh, the Dems knocked out all their experienced candidates, so all we have to do is go with an experienced candidate!"

(and by the way, hi, I finally put in some spare change so I could post here too!)

7. so here's a question...
How much influence do the party leaders have in terms of who runs, how much support they get, formally or informally?

If the Dem. party leaders were serious about this election, they would have steered it toward a Biden/someone ticket.

Or is this another case of Biden not being beholden to someone else, this time the party?

9. I think money holds more sway than The Party. But that's my pet bitch
about this whole campaign, so I'm probably not the best one to comment.

12. Hi.
From what I can tell, power and money have more to say than anything else. So people of influence, who've been around and weild power, are more impt. SO relates to how 'party' gets along with those we like, I think.

11. i began regretting it as soon as Iowa was over.
i hate this whole thing now. i really do.

i haven't given up hope that a Dem will be in the White House- just that it's an effective democrat.

how does a "brokered convention" work? is it even plausible now?

You are SOOO right.

I'm reading "The Assault on Reason" right now and am in awe of Gore's intelligence, too. (Gore was my choice before Biden.)

*sigh* What could have been. We are so screwed.
