The worst nightmare for a left wing Democrat: a Ronald Reagan teapot! Here's a link to a picture of one. http://teapotsteapotsteapots.blogspot.com/2006/05/ronald-reagan-teapot.html Mine is the same and in perfect condition. Church sale find - $2.00. Also found a Shelley miniature cup and saucer for a quarter.

5. Loetz? Wow! I'm always looking for Loetz, but I've never found it.
And that Tiffany vase is still out there somewhere, too. LOL. I also found a Buffalo Pottery Deldare mug for a quarter, but I discovered it had a hairline crack so that reduces the value of that pretty dramatically. It was a big, big weekend for tag sales and church bazaars. I spent more over the past 2 days than I've spent all summer. Does anyone know about Civil War stuff? I bought a mourning pin with a tintype of a Confederate officer on one side and woven hair on the other side. The person I bought it from thought it was someone from the Georgia Militia. The hasp of the pin is broken, but otherwise in good shape. I paid $50, but think it's worth hundreds.

6. It was the first piece I have
lucked up on that I was POSITIVE was Loetz....
and I have been doing this for years.

Civil War Stuff usually brings very good prices. The
hasp being broken should be a minor issue (not effecting
the value much). Mourning pin also makes it a 'cross
collectable'. Some people collect mourning jewelry.
Wish I could be of more help on that
I will say this - I am sure it is worth more than you
paid for it.

7. I just tested the mount and it's at least 22k, so I'm optimistic.
Unfortunately, I really don't know much about militaria so I don't know if Confederate stuff is more valuable than Union stuff or the same. I'm spending part of the afternoon searching the Internet tubes for Civil War collector sites.

8. Can you post a photo of the mourning pin?
I'd love to see it.

My brother and sister in law were dealers in militaria, specializing in the Civil War. He passed away last year. But if I found such an item, I'd shell out to have it appraised and then probably keep it forever. And yes, Confederate items can be highly valuable. :)
