I passed the MSF basic rider course this weekend!
I am psyched! I know that I am not ready for street riding yet, but now that the weather is nice, I am ready to get on my bike and practice the basics.

I am new to this forum. My husband rides a BMW F800 and has been riding for many years. I want to be able to ride with him. So, I went out and bought a BMW X-country, without having ridden a motorcycle before. It was a "bit" impulsive. But, I did well over the weekend and am exited to keep learning. I am looking forward to reading everyone else's stories.

1. Congratulations & enjoy!
Just don't take to the streets until you are confident (I did & regretted it later). If you have any nagging doubts, just take a little while longer & practice at low speeds (parks, etc.).

Have fun! Oh, and, aren't you going to post a pic of your bike?! :hi:

5. HG, I thought you liked the streets
but the ditch next to the street, not so much.

I hope the bike and you are both repaired and in good shape.

:hi:

7. lol!
Yeah, we've both recovered.

Didn't mind the ditch so much, it just hurt when the bike landed on my leg! :hi:

2. @momto3 ...
... what Haole Girl said X1,000,000.

Congrats and enjoy.

It's cool you wanted to ride with your husband. And it would be just as cool if you merely wanted to ride. You're excited and want to learn. Those things should stand you in good stead.

And, yes: Have fun. All of it.

Lastly, still in agreement with HG: Her request is a reasonable one. Any chance you might favor us with a picture of your new ride?

Best of luck.

4. Congrats! The MSF course is great.
You need to ride. Sunday morning rides. Get out and practice. The training you received will be used as you ride. You'll see. Got some country roads near you? Where do the bikers ride? Head for those roads and enjoy!
