Sarah Palin to Appear on American Chopper
By Alicia Dennis

Originally posted Wednesday April 29, 2009 12:55 PM EDT

Turns out the hockey mom is also a motorcycle maven.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin recently welcomed the crew from Orange County Choppers – whose custom motorcycle business is featured on TLC's American Chopper – to Anchorage where show star Paul Teutul Sr. researched building a bike to honor Alaska's 50-year anniversary of being a state.

"It means so much to the state of Alaska that these guys are building this bike that will honor statehood here," Palin says in the episode, airing April 30 at 9 p.m.

1. Now Obama's gotta get on OCC
Hawaii needs a chopper.

Hmmm, can we make an oil tank from a coconut? A headlamp from a pineapple?

2. bah, who cares
Bunch of poorly built overpriced shit anyway. The old man sits around and hammers on the kid to build them faster, faster ,faster. You don't get a quality custom bike that way. I was watching an episode the other night where they were actually riding some of the bikes for a video shoot and the bike Pauly was riding was falling apart. They were literally looking for bolts and screws alongside the road. Not a ringing endorsement of quality for a $60k plus custom bike....

4. That show isn't about building bikes, it's about a disfunctional family
with an abusive father.

6. Those guys are not bike builders
They are decorators. I quit watching their nonsense a couple years ago. Some of their stuff looks interesting, but it is crap. Nothing you'd want to ride any distance. Strictly for show only.

7. Not surprising. Big Paul and little Paul were big McCain supporters.
