Found a Kawasaki 2001 Vulcan 800A for an asking price of $3500
2001 kawasaki vuclan 800a 30,000 miles great bike to ride just had carb jeted with a corba kit and a set of corba pipes has new tires.

I'm pretty new to bikes in that I hadn't ridden in decades until I got a scoot. Now I want MORE! Any opinions or suggestions?

1. It's hard to go wrong with any of the offerings today. All will last until
the cows come home and offer more amenities and comfort than I ever imagined.

I last rode in the late '60s when the Bonneville had three switches: ignition, lights and dimmer switch. Ya' had to kick it to make it go. My new ride has three interlock switches on the electric start alone!

The police in my city ride Kawasakis and have for decades, so reliability and performance must not be an issue.

7. Hell, with cell phones they may be a bit worse...
I drive an F-150 extended cab, long wheel base. Good size truck. I have been passing people and been even with them and had them try to come in my lane. I try to avoid the major roads on the bike (at least in town).

2. Can't speak for the street bikes, but the dirt Kawis are bomb proof.
I can't begin to tell you the things I've seen done to them and they still run. And run well.

8. This forum is excellent
they can answer any question about Vulcans of any displacement. I do know that 800s must have periodic valve clearance adjustments. Register and read about 800s here http://forums.delphiforums.com/kawvulcan/messages
