DMC embroidery floss question
I just bought a design book that has a copyright date of 1979. How far can I trust the DMC thread numbers in that book? I have a current copy of the product number/thread color listing from DMC, but there have been so many color gradiations over the years that I'm not quite sure how accurate the new list and the book are. The book, for instance, has just simple color descriptions, such as "Light Blue, DMC 800." But there are a number of threads that are "light blue." What's more, the pattern book design is very primitive so it does not have up-close pictures of the finished designs, so I really can't eyeball the colors very well.

Any advice is appreciated.

1. It's accurate

....DMC 800 is a light blue.

DMC is well known for their colors being constant and stable, so no worries on using an older pattern.

Any other questions just give a yell or PM me if I don't answer right away.

Cheers

2. I agree
DMC colors usually remain constant by the number. They add colors but they don't normally change existing flosses.

4. That's what I was unsure of
I checked the colors against my DMC list, but I was unsure about the consistency.
