Newbie sewing machine?
Hi all! :hi:

So, I borrowed my Mom's Brother LS-2515 (or something like that) to try and learn to sew, and to see if I want to buy a machine of my own. If I do decide to, what would you recommend for this newly married college student with a tight budget? I'm not looking to be on Project Runway anytime soon, so nothing super fancy.

Thanks! :)

2. Hmm...For now,
Probably simple things, like pillowcases, pillows, etc. Later on, maybe simple clothing. Budget: 100-200? Possibly a tad higher.

3. I recently took a sewing class
and my teacher recommended a Janome. I've been happy with it. (Whatever you decide on, look up user reviews on the Internet. At first, I had bought a Singer machine and it was so awful, I had to return it. Some internet research revealed mountains of bad reviews.)

4. First off... CONGRATULATIONS to You and Sniffa!
:woohoo:  :bounce: :applause: :hi:

Now...your question...

Have been sewing for over 45 years, and last year my son bought me a handy-dandy machine by Brother.

I absolutely love it! It's lightweight, easy to use, and has a lot of great computerized stitches...and is within your price range ;)

6. I have a middle of the line Kenmore!
it does not have the computerized stitches but it is easy to use and I am loving it. (Just got it last October).
