I'm learning to knit socks on 2 circular needles
Edited on Thu Jun-28-07 08:27 PM by gizmonic
I had my first class tonight -- just in time for me to take my project w/me to Boston tomorrow! I have something to knit on the plane, yay!!

Gosh, it's sooo easy. Much less fiddly than dpns!

edit: I'm not ignoring you guys -- I don't have access to the internets until after the 8th. :hi:

1. I do mine on one long circular
The "magic loop" method. Now that I've done two pair this way I really like it. It's much easier to throw in a bag and carry somewhere - no worry about the dpns falling out.

Have fun on your trip!

2. I *heart* magic loop --
but I can't seem to get through the gusset without switching back to dpns (which I like as well so not a big deal) - just curious if you have any tips!

6. I use a dpns on my toe-up socks
But I use the circular on the cuff-down ones. It's awkward, though, and looks odd.

4. I've got to learn that --
I really dislike having all those points sticking out at me with dpns.

5. It was very easy once I was shown how
I like it much better than the dpns.

7. I'll bet there are online tutorials.

I know there's a little booklet you can buy too. I'm going to have to search for the online stuff.

Edit: oh my, I've hit gold (I think) in google. Be back later with some goodies (I hope).

8. Yeah, there are online tutorials.
I have to apologize -- after a certain point I stopped being able to prioritize these into more and less useful, so it's a mess, but a lovely mess. Some of these I'd already saved, and most of them cropped up in google:

9. Wow! Great collection
I see I've got some surfing to do if I can put down my knitting and look.

Thanks for your time in looking all these up!
