1. Where did you find the large pictures?
Are they perhaps vintage sheet music? I'm thinking that the world of decoupage already offers all sorts and sizes of papers already so you don't always have to hunt around.

When I think of decoupage I think of small pieces of paper on smallish items. This is an ambitious project. You did good!

2. Yes, those were some covers from about 1900-1909
Had been saving those for some time. Have framed some that are not in bad shape, but those that are falling apart are perfect for decoupage.

And, thanks! I have many other pieces of furniture to do soon. But, right now am now in the middle of redoing a '50s vanity for a friend that she's giving as a b-day present to a granddaughter. It WAS all flat cotton candy pink. It's now a blue with an overwash of purple, and have added the girl's initials in rhinestone on the mirror as well as rhinestones along the outer edges of the mirror. Will post a pic when done. I forgot to take on before starting as this is kind of a rush job, and I just jumped right in to get it done.

3. One of my favorite Norman Rockwell pics is of a vanity
I love the old ones. I bet the girl will love hers!

I had one years ago but gave it away due to lack of space in this house. It was only 5 bucks at a yard sale, so it wasn't sentimental. I gussied it up with white fabric and eyelet along the top curved edge. I think of it now and then with mild regret at having donated it.

5. I'll post a pic of it when done
It's kind of like a midcentury Danish style a la American repro, two drawers on the left, and a lift top with mirror on the inside and storage. Doesn't have it's original stool, but came with an old sewing stool that has the lift off under seat storage.

:hi:

It's hard to photograph well with just my little point and shoot camera. The colors really do go well with the decoupaged music covers on the sides. And, harder still, is getting the crackling on those music covers and the overlay rub of gold paint.
