AND..that those who supported the Dragon's "Police Keeping Force" need to TURN ON the Dragon, in force, before there can be more cuts...deeper cuts that cause great wounds.

Perhaps our Democrats are "wiser" in the ways of the world in that they know that neither the Left or Moderates in a Party can SLAY a MIGHTY DRAGON.

It's maybe not "keeping powder dry" but knowing that the REAL DEATH BLOW CUTS must come from those who CREATED THE DRAGON AND FEED IT! We aren't THERE YET! No RW AVENGERS have shown up with the MIGHT SWORD to do the DEED.... We must wait.........?????

1. I really hope so
I don't know what to think after the last couple weeks. Deep down I hope that that is what their strategy is.

2. Its also possible they are 'triangulating' and pussy footing around
because they believe they can translate 70% anti-war hate into an election win in 2008. Personally, I hope you are right but given Pelosi took impeachment off the table in 2006, I don't believe it. They need to step out of the way before the Impeachment/Hate the way we are going train runs over them.

4. Believe me....I know this...but, I'm offering a scenario that maybe we haven't
given much thought to? IOWD's...there's more to changing a Mighty Meme and the Neo/Con's allied with the RW Evangelicals that is allied with BIG BUSINESS and has been growing for years...than our small movement who hoped for change with Carter and then Clinton could imagine.

We never knew how "small and puny" we were. We never realized what we were up against. It' maybe time to look at it in Fables...about "Mighty Dragons."

6. I wish you were right, honey, but I am bereft of hope right now.
Hugs to the optimists of the world and to you too.

5. If you need to win then fight the battles you can win
This is the only rational that I believe they can be using and still trying to represent us truthfully.

8. May I offer the old dem way, from way back when? You fight every
battle, every time regardless of vote count. You come back every week and hit them in the face until someone on the other side blinks. Imagine what the quizzling 'moderate republicans' would do if we had a backbone?

14. You need the "MIGHTY SWORD"though....What Dem has had one
ever? Maybe JFKennedy...but look what happened to him...

Cave Dwellers need a Mighty Sword. (at this point I put Dem Activists in the cave dweller status).

Rahm Emmanuel and the Rest are the MIGHTY...even Holy Joe who managed to slay Ned Lamont. :-(

11. Oh and dems are going to stand by and allow a thug to steal any glory from anything they attempt at
this late date, after how many lives and how many dollars? I think not. They own the war of lies, not us.

12. My optimism wants to agree with you
so ...leaving pessimism in a box for now ...just "cuz", here's a quote from Sun Tzu

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.

and I cross fingers hoping for the best.

15. Indeed, what cuts?
The worst the Dems seem to do are mere abrasions. Irritations. Mosquito bites.

Meanwhile, the GOP elephant keeps lumbering along, leaving desolation and destruction in it's path.

And why?

Because no one goes ahead of that elephant to challenge it directly.
