FR keyword search: "attention whore"

This is a vile expression I had not heard before; at least I don't remember hearing it before. So just to investigate, I did a keyword search in freeperland.

The results are self-explanatory. ;-)

1. It's very popular among the kids these days, along with

"post whore" (one who posts lots of messages on a board) and a number of others.

Applied to Cindy Sheehan, I think it is a pretty vile characterization. How can anyone not have anything but sympathy for her situation? Jeezuz, we are becoming cold bastards.

3. That would fit with the anime artwork I've seen from some

posters, but it's interesting that it's used with such regularity at FR. A similar search on this site revealed far less, and most of it was very recent (in connection with the dust-up today).

I have used it myself and do not agree with your interpreation that it is vile. I wouldnt call Cindy Sheehan one, but I do not think it is a vile expression.
