Blind man beaten, walking cane stolen

TAMPA: Police in Tampa are looking for a suspect who allegedly beat and robbed a blind man from Fort Myers. The attacker took everything including the man’s cell phone, credit cards, and even his walking cane.

Kris Scheppe, 27, is now recovering from the attack. He says he was mugged on his way to the National Federation of the Blind of Florida State Convention.

"The guy grabbed me by my shirt here and said give me what you got and then he punched me in the head," said Scheppe. "I'd say he hit me 20, 30 times."

Luckily, a security guard at a nearby courthouse was able to get Scheppe the help he needed.

1. Make the punishment fit the crime
When they catch the clown, glue his eyes shut and turn him loose with a sign on his back. Take bets as to how far he gets.

2. Yes, but can they turn him loose a hundred miles north of
Kolyma, in January?

3. This is comparable to the thug who robbed and beat an 101
year old woman in New York. This is a very sick society when the weakest and most helpless among us cannot walk safely down the street. They are now trying to pass a law in New York that would make such assaults on the elderly equivalent to a hate crime (the Granny Law.) It would be well to include the blind and physically impaired.

4. Thats great!
Florida already has that law for the elderly. "the blind and physically impaired" I'm not sure of, I would have to research that.
