1. If Bush nuked Iran the entire US would be glass within days, maybe hours.
BushCo doesn't understand M.A.D. at all.

5. Who On Earth Would Do that, Sir?
Any power that launched such a strike would be devastated itself, within half an hour of launching the missiles. Do you seriously imagine the Russians would do that over Persians?

most of the arab monarchies will be happy to see Iran knocked down. How the "arab street" reacts is a different story.

15. Then they should do it themselves
The failure of the US and other allied nations to hold ME leaders accountable for dealing with their regional problems means endless wars with no solution.

3. Since I am a suspicious individual,
I suspect that the plan is to nuke at least one American city first.....or perhaps just a bio attack or something will be sufficient......in order to provide the excuse for nuking Iran. By then, yes, the apocalypse will come. The once-stated aim of PNAC was to reduce the world's population by two-thirds. An apocalypse will do it, but there will be nothing left of the world to inherit by that point.

That scares me worse. The person who has the authority to declare an emergency also gains the power from doing so. Could be anything. Pickles has an ingrown toenail! Declare a state of emergency!

10. France, Germany, Russia, and maybe China will need to step up to the plate
and help resist further adventures by the neocons. We plebians can't do this by ourselves apparently. Economic sanctions, boycotts, frozen assets, embargoes... Bush has to be made to feel consequences, and he can't fight the whole industrialized world (I hope).

confronting force with force. There are things they do to help prevent conflict but that isn't working with Bush.

11. I learned of this a few days ago here on DU and I think it's good
to keep it out there so everyone has a chance to learn about it. This morning a caller on Washington Journal asked the two reporter guests about this presidential directive and NEITHER of them had heard about it, so they claimed! Later, Peter got some info and put it out there! I was surprised and happy he did that. K&R

20. TIN-HATTED paranoia will not solve our dilemna, and making Congress think
the public is a bunch of nut heads does not help at all.

Glass-ball politics, fortune reading the future, is not exactly a great strategy to deal with the present.

I thought that paranoid politics and divining cataclysm was the realm of pinko-fearing Birchers? Better to keep it real on the left, right?

22. so you dont think attacking Iran is a Problem.. i did not make it clear that they intended to use
bunker buster nuke tipped devices.. but that wont make any difference to Muslim Propagandists.. or me for that matter, it is insanity to have our navy in 280 feet of water within range of Mach 3 anti-ship-missles that give 20 second warnings, and rocket mines under the water.

we could lose 2 carrier groups in an hour, and David Pearl will have his 'Pearl harbor' to cinch the NeoCon take over of the governmnt

30. Revokes Clinton's PDD 67 AND "all Annexes thereto" - at least according to
this link....

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=National_Continuity_Policy

snip>

Revocation of PDD-67
The directive revokes Presidential Decision Directive 67 of October 21, 1998 (Enduring Constitutional Government and Continuity of Government Operations), "including all Annexes thereto".

According to the Federation of American Scientists, the "text of PDD-67 has not been released, and there is no White House Factsheet summarizing its provisions." <1> A summary can be found here and here.

And you've got to sort of wonder what's all included in Bush's Annex A

From you're link:

(23) Annex A and the classified Continuity Annexes, attached hereto, are hereby incorporated into and made a part of this directive.

(24) Security. This directive and the information contained herein shall be protected from unauthorized disclosure, provided that, except for Annex A, the Annexes attached to this directive are classified and shall be accorded appropriate handling, consistent with applicable Executive Orders.

I was able to find the FPC 65 from July 1999 - http://www.usaid.gov/policy/ads/100/fpc65899.pdf
Don't have the time to dig much more right now, so not sure what it all means - just have a hard time trusting anything the little Whistle-ass does.
