I have seen all the hypocrisy I can ever take
Edited on Sun May-27-07 11:38 AM by dsc
I am waiting to see Gore on CSPAN 2 and here is Newt Ginrich extolling the virtues of God in public life. This would be the Newt Ginrich who is on his third wife. The Newt Ginrich who left his cancer stricken first wife for a woman he was sleeping with. The New Ginrich who left his second wife for the woman he was sleeping with while Impeaching Bill Clinton for getting a blow job from a woman not his wife, nor Ginrich's mistress. The same Newt Ginrich who has been repeatedly repremanded by the House ethics committee for breaking the relatively sparse ethics rules of the US House. Now he is telling us about God. What next, Rush Limbaugh extolling the virtues of tolerance and sobriety, Dr. Laura extolling the virtues of raising children who aren't sociopaths, Sumo wrestlers extolling being thin and trim? Give me a break.

1. It doesn't matter...
As long as he's saying "God" or "Jesus" every few minutes he's golden.

We are one stupid country.

2. Welcome to the 'real' Twilight Zone...

Amazing ain't it? Would you have ever thought that the American people would tolerate this hypocrisy and this astounding ignorance? I never ever had such a low opinion of my fellow Americans, not even during Viet Nam and Watergate.

But my stomach would just flip everytime I heard the phrase "he's the kind of guy you could sit down and have a beer with."

Then, I knew that our 200 years was up. (200 years is about the average lifetime of most powerful empires, before the blood got thin and the people got stupid and lazy. At least, that is the theory. And nothing I've seen during my lifetime negates it.)

edit: Forgot to mention that never before in mankind's history has the Peter Principal been so convincingly proven as it has with the bush** admin and the 'new' democratic majority of 2006.

3. About that "have a beer with" phrase
I don't particularly want my leaders to sit and have a beer with me, I want them to lead. I get the alleged meaning, the so called "common man", but our leaders are supposed to solve problems, not sit around and drink beer. I can drink enough beer, they should just take care of the business we sent them to DC for. I may not have phrased all of this correctly, but hopefully, you will get my meaning.

5. Oh I most certainly do. I want the leader of my country to make me look
like a mental midget. I don't want any one that I can picture sitting around with the good old boys drinking beer and swapping stories. I want someone that can fit in with the world's leaders and soberly discuss what is wrong.

That was KKKarl and his knack for coming up great hook lines. Lines that will pull in those that don't like to spend a lot of thought at what they're being told, something that sounds good by is illogical and basically pointless but makes them feel good.
