I woke up and had the misfortune of hearing a news reader tell Bob Schiffer this on Face the Nation.

Other propoganda from the news reader:

IED's have remained consistently "bad"--one was buried under concrete. How on earth are our troops supposed to defend against that? (How about get the fuck out?)

The insurgents are adapting their tactics. The effectiveness of the surge depends on how effectively the enemy "adapts". The insurgents are adapting quickly, more quickly than ever. (Translation: the surge isn't working, blame the "enemy".)

The question is WHY they are defending against it at all. Why is there a surge? What the fuck are they fighting for, and WHO are these insurgents?

I don't normally watch these shows anymore and this is why, but hearing that, just pissed me off. The TV channel has been changed to HGTV.

1. "I don't normally watch these shows..." Then you'd be pleased to live in Indiana today...
It's all Indy 500 all the time on all broadcast channels.

God have mercy on those of us who are not racing fans.

3. My lovely wife gave me an early father's day present: 15 yards of mulch.
Time for some pre-emptive Advil.

4. I thought the surge was supposed to remedy the chaos, not create more of it.
The true reason for the surge is the goose that lays golden eggs - - -> control of the Iraqi oilfields.

The Bush corporate cabal will not give up that goose easily. They will escalate this war as long as the People of this Nation allow them to do so. I am sickened that the Democrats backed down on their latest chance to do something about this oil grab.

5. First, I agree with you. Second, this OP makes no sense in light
of the poster's subject yesterday:

Today she's saying a solution is to get the f___ out. Yesterday she was touting the Dems in Congress who could have started getting us out! :eyes:
