West Point Rally & Cheney Visit: "Gathering of Eagles" Disrupts Rally
Edited on Sun May-27-07 09:29 AM by wordpix
I went to the W. Point rally against Cheney to protest his address to the West Point graduating class of '07. Why W. Point invited 5-Deferment Chickenhawk Cheney to speak is beyond me.

We were not allowed to protest inside the West Point gate and our rally was held in a town park about 1/2 mile away. We had a little stage set up for speakers including Iraq War vets, Vietnam vets, a female colonel who resigned over the Iraq War and the parents of a dead marine. The marine was killed in Iraq when his unit ran out of bullets after being ambushed.

The "Gathering of Eagles," a pro-BushCo group of only a handful of counter-protesters, had a huge truck parked on and halfway blocking the small side street that bordered the park where we were. The truck and "Eagles" were only a few yards from us. They were extremely disruptive, yelling through a bullhorn into their sound system that was turned up full volume. When the Iraq vet spoke to our group, they constantly screamed that he is a war criminal. When the mother of the dead marine spoke, they reduced her to tears. I went up to the police along with a few of the organizers and asked that these "Eagles" be moved so we could hear the speakers. The police were polite but said that we both had the right to be there and we both had sound systems---they could not ask for one sound system to be turned down or off.

There will be more protests against BushCheney appearances this summer. I suggest that all organizers get permits that specify counter protesters be a good distance from the antiwar group. The prowar crowd has a right to air their views but not the right to disrupt and prevent our antiwar free speech, which is what they tried to do yesterday.

Who are these people, the "Gathering of Eagles," which I prefer to call the "Gathering of Evils"? This was the most rude, obnoxious group I've ever encountered. I am wondering if they're a paid BushCo group of thugs.

3. Bet they are there to incite
violence. However, when it happens, they will cry foul. The eagles are nothing more than chickenhawks in costume. It's going to be an ugly summer.

4. The first thing I'd tell the "Gathering of Turkeys" is
sign up or shut the fuck up. That goes for any lurking freeptard too. Go enlist and help fight this war that you love so much or shut your fucking pie hole. I'm sick of you candy assed little pansies.

12. Bring enlistment forms and pass them out to these pro-war chickenshits!
I don't understand how anyone can be pro-war. It boggles the mind.

5. Here is the freeper "after action report" including some great pix with Cheney wanted posters, lol

snip: During this time I had the megaphone and constantly reminded the moonbat side of their hypocritical stand on peace knowing they never marched for peace anywhere in the world except when they were against the US.

I also reminded the moonbat crowd that their actions that day proved all the points I was making all along: that they aren't for peace, they are an inherently violent crowd incapable of controlling their passions and their women are more violent than their men. :)

They did a march to the front gate and back, and then myself and Doctor Raoul did a routine; me the straight man, Doctor the master of information; educating the moonbats on the origin and doctrine of the moonbat groups, such as United for Peace and justice and their anti-Semitism and open calls for unconditional support of the Mujahadeen in Iraq against American Military forces. The moonbats began to leave about that point, but some listened.

I am not sure how many will research what we said, but we repeated several websites for them to look at, including http://www.discoverthenetworks.org .

13. Freepers are cowards
Edited on Sun May-27-07 10:24 AM by gaspee
Fear drives their pathetic little lives and that fear makes them ugly. Cowardly traders who will lead to the downfall of the US. They're supposedly conservatives and in a way, I guess they are. Conservatives are all about the past and totalitarian goverments are quite the tradition.

I'd spit in their faces if they tried to pull that bullshit with me.

Join the military or shut the fuck up. Asshole cowardly pissant little shits.

6. The choice of Cheney as speaker was an insult to
the cadets. Wonder how many of them know that not only did he not serve, he sought and received 5 deferments, making sure he was married and becoming a father just at the opportune time to avoid being called up. Then later the arrogant bastard went on the record with his proclamation that he had "other priorities" than to serve.

Now he's an architect of a war based on lies he himself concocted. He continues to profit off of the blood of US soldiers every time he collects a check from Halliburton. He's a goddamned traitor for his role in the Plame outing.

And this is the best West Point can do? Unbelievable.

14. more photos at freeperville:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1840302/posts

Note how the freeper reporting paints a sweet picture of his "Gathering of Evils" as quiet, innocent victims of the antiwar crowd, when it was the prowar nasties who were disrupting OUR rally and calling war vets "war criminals," while shouting down parents of a Marine who died in Iraq. :puke:

8. Robinson of Freeperville helped organize the crazy screaming eagles
He was personally involved. In fact freeperville has a complete highlighted forum for them

cut and paste link:

If you want to know if the freeper supported crazy screamers are going to try and interfere with your next rally, it may be good to monitor freeperville. I see they have a thread bragging about breaking up your rally.

"He pulls a knife, you pull a gun." In other words, why on earth were these FReepers allowed to disrupt you in the first place without pre-emptive measures being put into effect?

15. I think rally organizers did not realize how close police would let the crazies get to our site
Thus, I am warning all rally organizers to specify in their permits that RWnuts should not be anywhere within sight or loud sound.

16. Well, that's a start...
...but maybe you also need some brave souls that are willing to insert themselves into a FReeper counter-protest and destabilize it from within by using over-the-top rhetoric. Kinda like what Borat did with his "War of Terror" speech at that rodeo.

They'd also have to be able to handle themselves in a fistfight should a FReeper start throwing punches, yes, but this is a war we've found ourselves thrust into.

18. Padlock their Porta-Potties
I understand that few things will demoralize the "Eagles UP!" crowd more than not having access to their Porta-Potties. Heck, just buy a few padlocks, amble over to the Area Which Shall Not Be Named, and slip a few on the hasps on the doors.

If someone happens to be in there at the time, so much the better.
