4. being a Liberal or a Progressive is a GOOD thing. those that

disparage the terms are fools, caught in the past and refusing change, no matter how much the present of the future holds. Conservatism, in the modern sense, is based on the status quo and a laizze faire attitude that we have seen in business and social programs. They live in the fear that may actually realize that the earth and the people that populate it are dynamic. Life is a risk, and w/o that risk, life can be seen as w/o purpose.

Liberals realize that there are problems that are inherent to human nature, and we work to try to level the playing field. We don't want to make the wealthy poor, nor do we want to have society to do a 180 and live in near chaos...what we want is justice, an end to ignorance and a society where all are seen equal under the laws and mores of this nation. How can someone be against that and have a conscience?

Its definitely becoming acceptable again. Look at how Neocon has become practically a slur; the word conservative isn't too far behind. If you ever get mad at someone, rather then cursing, simply call them a conservative (or is that too cruel?)
