I have been involved in state and local politics here in Illinois for awhile. I am a good foot soldier. In the past, I regarded the republics as the opposition. They did not believe in the same things I believed.

Not any more. The past six years have convinced me that not only is * evil, but also that anyone who supports him is condoning and participating in evil. I don't care if that person is my Uncle Joe or the republic members of our county board. If they have any sense of morality at all, they cannot still call themselves republics. They are evil by association.

I have had people on DU, and in my real life, tell me that I should not be doing the us-versus-them thing. But I have come to feel that our way of life is at stake, our democracy is at stake, the planet is at stake. Sometimes one has to take sides. Sometimes it is all or nothing.
