RIP Sgt. Walsh

sgt. nicholas walsh, 26, was one of those killed in iraq today. i used to work with his step-mother, but she always said he was her son, there was no 'step' about it. she and i are still in touch from time to time

he is my age with two babies at home

his brother graduated high school today

my heart is breaking for this family right now and for all the families who have felt this unimaginable pain over the last nearly six years

i have known few families as loving and amazing as this family and i want to rage at the universe/god/whatever about why something like this could ever happen to this family.

i want to rage at the blood-thirsty war machine that is our 'government'

i can't even think straight right now

although i do not agree with why we are there, i salute you, nick. your family loved you very much, nick, as do i
