President Obama woos corporate CEO's as he adopts their "yes we can" political agenda
Obama Woos CEOs as Frictions Ease
By ELIZABETH WILLIAMSON
December 11, 2010

President Barack Obama will convene a one-day summit of corporate chief executives Wednesday as part of a renewed White House effort to build support among business leaders for his economic agenda.

Ideas for overhauling the tax code and cutting the deficit will be a substantial part of the Wednesday discussion, Presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett said, as would ideas for "a balanced approach to regulations—to promote economic growth and give business regulatory certainty and predictability while providing safety for the American people," she said.

"Regulations have been a fault line with business, so compromise on them would be a very welcome change," said Johanna Schneider, executive director of the Business Roundtable, composed of chief executives from the U.S's biggest multinationals

Since the election, Mr. Obama "has done the right thing to reach out to people in both parties….I think he is going to be more experienced and build more coalitions than he was before," U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue said Friday on Fox News.

Oh yes. We need to weaken or end all of those nasty regulations that have restrained Wall Street and corporate America from screwing the people even more!

But, President Obama and Congress promise more change they can believe in! Ms. Schneider from the Business Roundtable happily pointed out: "The tax compromise and the Korea deal made a big difference—there's a lot of respect, and the view that this could open the door to further compromises by the president and Congress." Yes they can! BBI

5. It's not like he won on our money in 2008 either - he won on Wall Street money
and that is where his allegiance lies.

12. I never thought I would see the day where I would skip the presidential
part of the ballot. I just don't see how I can check that box. If he's going to continue voting for Republican policies, then we would have a much better impact showing the next Democratic president that we are important to the party.

13. If you skip the presidential part of the ballot, you will be helping the
Repubs. to win. If the Repubs. win, this time they might improve on Bush's attempt to
destroy our Constitution and completely succeed. Good-bye democracy, Hello dictatorship.

If you even reluctantly vote for Obama, our very sick democracy will still continue to
live. And where there is life, there is hope. If we elect a real Progressive for
president after Obama's terms, true democracy may blossom and thrive again.

Does this make sense? Please don't let your emotions overrule your reasoning.

14. What I think makes sense is that totalitarian regimes bring on their own demise.
Let them have it. Give them what they want. Not until they bring this country to the brink of disaster will the sleeping giant wake up.

state of disaster -- not merely to the brink. And this disaster will be too horrible
to contemplate, our entire nation of 330 million people (except for the top 0.1%) will
be going through indescribable hell. And who knows for how long?

Until our Declaration of Independence of 1776, the nations of the entire world were
ruled by kings and emperors, with the help of their nobility. Royalty and nobility
enjoyed all the privileges, the rest of the people were their serfs and servants. and
had no rights at all. Royalty and nobility taxed their people at will. They lived
in their castles in luxury. There was no castle worthy of the name that didn't also
have its torture chambers. That's where those commoners who rebelled ended up.

Human written history was first begun some 7,000 ago years by the Mesopotamians (ancestors
of the present-day Iraqis). Greece and a few other countries had brief periods of a
type of democracy. They weren't real democracies because, f.i., slavery of non-Greeks was
very much alive. We didn't become a real democracy either, until Lincoln abolished slavery.

Out of 7,000 years of known human history, democracy has existed for less than 200, and
democracy today does not exist everywhere either. It took us humans that long to evolve, and
now the greedy, ambitious and aggressive corporate CEOs with their primitive and sociopathic
personalities, are trying to go back to the old times -- with themselves as the lords and
masters!

I believe prevention is better than cure. The cost is much lower. I say, it's better
to prevent the above from happening than to attempt a cure after it has already happened.

3. See, now everyone expects "compromise" from the President
"Regulations have been a fault line with business, so compromise on them would be a very welcome change," said Johanna Schneider, executive director of the Business Roundtable . . . .

It seems if you are invited to a meeting with the President, you can expect him to compromise to your position.

18. It's interesting who he's actually meeting with, and who he's not.
Christian leaders, Wall St. bankers, CEOs... but not the unemployed.

I'd like to think that Obama is actually HEARING from those who are affected. It may actually move him. To push for unemployment for the 99ers. Or to ditch the payroll tax holiday (the Trojan horse for the demise of SS). To create a WPA program - something, ANYTHING!

To eliminate the federal minimum wage in order to create "jobs". Yeah, you won't be able to live on one of them, but that's not the objective...it's to make the unemployment rate "look better" for the 2012 election. Also explains why he's fast-tracking wiping out assistance programs. That way nothing to fall back on as opposed to taking one of those $8 a day jobs.
