Who Decides that those who Urge and March for Political Change...are Designated Terrorists?
Edited on Fri May-25-07 05:55 PM by KoKo01
Who Decides this? Is it Media? Governments? Think Tanks? History?

I wonder about the Jews in Germany who tried to resist? Those in Holland and others who gave safe refuge to others. Those who give "safe refuge" to political regugees when the "tide turns" and what was once a "voice for people" is declared by some "ruling faction" to be a "dissident voice?"

How would we define "Terrorists?" Isn't "one man's terrorist" another man's "Freedom Fighter?"

Wasn't America founded by "Terrorists?" or..were they "Freedom Fighters." The term "PATRIOTS" were how THEY DEFINED THEMSELVES...but wouldn't many Tories residing in America who were fine with British RULE have called the "Founders of our Constitution" as TERRORISTS?

What is the FRAMING.....Who DEFINES who is a TERRORIST and who is a FREEDOM FIGHTER?

I don't know anymore. It's so BLURRED since BUSH I AND II that it's hard for readers of current history to even understand it without having "9/11" pushed in their faces as THE DEFINING MOMENT!

How do we DEFINE OURSELVES THESE DAYS? WHO ARE WE?

If we PROTEST we are considered "Dirty Hippies" by the MAINSTREAM MEDIA....?

But..WHO DEFINES THE "Anti-Dirty HIPPIIES?" Who makes that decision?

Who? Who ARE WE?

1. All good questions. The irony is that when the answers
are known, it is already too late. History seems to have shown that.

Until I saw a cable program on the subject of gratuitous and public, sexual assaults on African-American, female, airline passengers by Customs personnel yesterday, across the United States, not so long ago, I had firmly believed that the recent Bush approval figure of 28% figure was a media myth - a gross understatement.

I still suspect that figure is an overstatement, a desperate attempt at damage limititation by their trusty polling accomplices, but I'm not by any means so sure now. With such a numerous underclass of morally and intellectually bankrupt, white-collar workers, fairly responsible officials, it makes a lot more sense. Not so much, "stupid is as stupid does", as "stupid does as stupid is".

Such evil cretins are incapable of knowing where their own best interest lie in relation to their own professional duties, how much less, in relation to their political interests?

9. You know I fought for a long time against labelling that Evil Elf in the WH
but Hitler, Caligula and the rest..it maybe gives that IDIOT too much credit. BUT...now I see that the RESULTS of his REGIME are the SAME as if he was one of the worst Dictators or EVIL ONES in HISTORY!

He and his followers are really something we NEVER THOUGHT we'd have to SEE AGAIN not only in the late 20th Century but NOW...in the 21st.

EVIL doesn't die...it seems. :-( it just comes back to bite us in the arse!

10. I had this guy all figured out in late 2000 during the campaign.
The Karla Faye Tucker thing where he mocked her - it was all I needed to know. And I was dead on.

7. Ultimately..the media
Edited on Fri May-25-07 06:38 PM by SoCalDem
They are the ones with the cameras & microphones. They always focus on the "odd".

Rarely do they report on large peaceful marches, but when the provocateurs toss something, or someone walks by covered with body paint, that's their story.

During the 60's there were many more people than the "hippies", but the media loved to show those scruffy long-haired boys and those braless teenaged girls..

Whatever scares the bejeesus out of the "business-class" is what they portray as the face of protest.

12. It is the legitimized government who does so to protect the people with money
the rich families, and the corporations.
