Blood on your Hands Project
May 25, 2007

Blood on your Hands Project

Friends,
Yesterday congress voted to give the President a blank check to wage the "war" in Iraq. Congress in effect signed a death warrant for hundreds of our kids fighting the 110th congresses newly bought and paid for war.Signed a death warrant for thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens.

The blood spilled is now on their hands. We believe that they do not fully understand or care about the impact of their political maneuverings. The congress that we in the Peace Movement worked so hard to get elected are for the most part ignoring the will of the people. Yesterdays MSNBC poll concluded the 72% of the American public no longer support the occupation of Iraq. Please take 10 minutes of your day, daily and remind congress of the consequences of their actions. Write and e-mail, make a phone call, tell your congressional reps how many more of our kids they allowed to die. Give them the names of the newly confirmed KIA on the DOD list. Ask them how many more lives are they willing to sacrifice in the name of their politics. Tell them that you will not support them in "08" if they continue to defy the will of those they were elected to serve.
Write you own letter or use the sample letter below.

Sample Letter:

Dear Sen/Rep_____________________

Now that you have voted to fund the war this is now your war. Every penny spent equates to more blood shed. Blood that is now on your hands. Most in the legislative branch admit that "mistakes" were made that led us into war. Some of the braver amongst you call them for what they were lies. 77% of the American public now do not agree with the way the President is handling the war according to the latest MSNBC poll. Yet, you refuse to do the will of the American people by allowing the president to continue to wage this war of lies. We sent a clear message to you in Nov 06. We made it clear that we would no longer accept business as usual. We voted for Peace and we voted for change. As it stands all we are getting in return for our hard work is business as usual. Your political futures clearly matter more than the futures of our brave Troops many of which you have just condemned to death. Your political concerns mean more to you then the hundreds of innocent Iraqis that are being slaughtered weekly. Your political concerns trump the will of the People.

Today__________ more troops have died.

These names are newly confirmed KIA on the DOD casualty list.

05/24/07 Ashley, Benjamin J.

THIS BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS

HOW MANY MORE LIVES ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE

Sincerely,

Let us know you are participating

In Peace, Dede

I have no hope for 2 out of 3 that I sent. Cornyn and Hutchinson are worthless POS. But I had higher hopes for Lloyd Doggett

3. Blood on OUR Hands project (!)
Hey, Proud, for a second I thought you'd been reading my mind. You see, I've been thinking of dyeing my own hands blood red. To express my anger, to show penitence, to keep the issue under the noses of those around me, etc.

Imagine if people with blood-red hands started showing up on the sidewalks in DC. No signs, no marches, no chants -- just citizens with 'blood' on their hands gathering quietly outside the White House, the Capitol.....

5. I love it!
One of my friends often comes to our vigils with his hands painted red. Yes, it is an effective visual.
