MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) -- A search of the home of Jason Hamilton, blamed for fatally shooting three people and himself last weekend, turned up an Aryan Nations flag and written materials from the white supremacist group, a police official says.

Hamilton's ties to the group, formerly based in North Idaho, were found when FBI agents, federal Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents and Latah County sheriff's deputies searched his home here, Moscow Assistant Police Chief David Duke said Tuesday night in a telephone interview.

The 36-year-old janitor, who moved from the Boise area a few years ago, fatally shot himself in a Presbyterian church after killing his wife, a police officer and a church sexton and wounding three other men, authorities said.

The victims were white, Duke said.

The Spokesman-Review of Spokane, Wash., citing unidentified sources, reported on its Web site that Hamilton had an Aryan Nations membership card, as well as a flag, and had been a dues-paying member since 2000 -- four years before the death of Aryan Nations founder Richard Butler.

1. And there will be more of this.
While the authorities chase little brown men and hound them to death and beyond, they have been ignoring the threat on our own, lily-white right. David Neiwart's blog, Orcinus, is an ongoing chronicle of just what these people are up to. The worst part is that they now get direct rhetorical support on our TVs and in our papers, every day.

Everything these writers and pundits and squawking heads are saying is straight out of the extreme right's syllabus.

3. And yet Glenn Beck is not profiling
white guy terrorists in our country. No. The white guys who blow-up abortion clinics or federal buildings don't get even one show.
Or even a mention from the right.
They're invisible.
Yet Beck can't talk enough (since scaring the hell out of people is his whole schtick) on Muslim terrorists living in our country. I switch over to him off and on just to see what kind of crap he's talking. And it's always the same.
It's what the Aryan nation feeds on: hate and scare tactics.
It's US vs. THEM. And the "them" is always a different race and religion.
I'll say this for Beck. He knows his audience.

4. Right-wingerism = insanity
In modern, civilised nations (at least before the Bushco era), the definition of sane and societally acceptable behaviour is essentially liberalism. The further you move away from liberalism, the crazier you are. Oversimplified perhaps, but basically the truth.

6. But the Aryan Nation isn't listed as a terrorist organization by the FBI anymore. Just the leftist
environmental groups.
