A response to Reid & Pelosi, Obama & Clinton (Profane & Uncivil)
The DFH sums up my feelings pretty well:

Bowing to President Bush, the Democratic-controlled House reluctantly approved fresh billions for the Iraq war on Thursday, minus the troop withdrawal timeline that drew his earlier veto.

The 280-142 vote sent the bill to the Senate for final passage, expected later in the evening.

There are now 280 murderers in Congress.

Five months in power on Capitol Hill, Democrats coupled their concession to the president with pledges to challenge his policies anew. "This debate will go on," vowed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, announcing plans to hold votes by fall on four separate measures seeking a change in course.

Fuck you, Nancy, you now have ZERO credibility on this issue! You are either a fool or a Machiavellian scumbag. You have no intention of doing anything to stop Bush, and he knows it. Before you even took office you took "impeachment off the table", thus telling Bush that there was no crime he would be held accountable for. He and Rove know that they are completely free to disobey all laws, to lie, to cheat, hell, even murder people and they will NOT suffer ANY punishment. Gonzalez has perjured himself repeatedly and nothing is done. Karl Rove and Dick Cheney outed a CIA agent and still have their jobs. Tax payer money has been used to PAY columnists to spread administration lies and not a single indictment has occurred. The criminals have not even been required to GIVE THE MONEY BACK.

George W. Bush and/or any member of his staff could rape. butcher and EAT a toddler on the White House lawn and you and the rest of your spineless Bush-fellaters would do absolutely NOTHING.

House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio choked back tears as he stirred memories of the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. "After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to take them on? When are we going to defeat them," he asked.

John? Next time, just choke. "When are we going to take them on?" Why don't you ask your God, George Bush? He's the one who has given the Saudis, the Pakistanis and Osama bin-Laden a free pass.

In a highly unusual maneuver, House Democratic leaders crafted a procedure that allowed their rank and file to oppose money for the war then step aside so Republicans could provide the bulk of votes needed to send it to the Senate for final approval.

"I hate this agreement," added Rep. David Obey, D-Wis., chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, who played a key role in talks with the White House that yielded the measure.

Fuck you too, David. Fuck you with Dick Cheney's shriveled dick.

That left Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois publicly uncommitted in the hours leading to the vote, two leading White House rivals tugged in one direction by the needs of 165,000 U.S. troops — and in another by party activists demanding rejection of the legislation.

The troops "need" to be where people are not killing and maiming them. "Party activists" want the troops to be where people are not killing and maiming them.

Where is the conflict?

Both of you are dead to me. You made your choice even if you vote against the issue. You failed to call out the leadership, which you had a moral obligation to do. Better this nation die and become a Republican police state, than ever be lead by spiritual cowards like you.

6. Call out the leadership
They waited until the issue was decided in favor, then voted no. A favorite Lieberman tactic.

21. To stand up and be counted!!
I want them to be stating clearly over and over again where they stand on each and every issue. I want them to be debating, persuading, cajoling, explaining, trying to influence people, trying to change minds, to be coming out forcefully for what is right

Why is that so hard for them to do? Because they don't care about what's right, only about what's politically expedient.

F**K them.

14. He is the man. Remember as kids studying in history
You were given the sense that only those who could speak eloquently would ever be great Presidents?

(I'm pretty much in my mid-fifties except heavy metal wise. And maybe history is not taught that way now.)

15. "DC Dems are dead to me"
This is exactly how I feel.

I've been upset about a lot of things in politics the last 6-7 years.

Somehow, this is the worst. Because the other times, it was the other guys screwing us over.

Now it's our own guys.

Kind of a creepy revelation of how the whole thing works. Of how we've been USED.

Fuck them.
