'Sanity' seen from space

This half-meter resolution satellite image focuses on the far eastern end of Washington's National Mall. The Oct. 30 image shows the crowd of people who gathered for the "Rally to Restore Sanity" that day. The image was collected by the GeoEye-1 satellite as it moved from north to south over the Eastern Seaboard at a speed of 4 miles per second. The building just north of the crowd on the mall is the National Gallery of Art, with the East Gallery to the right.
