Austin, TX - A Texas jury has convicted former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.The verdict was read in an Austin courtroom. It came after 29 hours of deliberations.

DeLay is charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering. He faces up to life in prison.

Prosecutors claim the former Houston-area congressman helped illegally funnel $190,000 in corporate campaign donations to Texas legislative races in 2002 in a move that ultimately helped send more Republicans to Congress. DeLay has long denied any wrongdoing.

Jurors began deliberating Monday.

And revoke his rights to vote, permanently.

Restitution: $1 billion to the Democratic Party, all monies transferred from the RNC account to it, with a big fat overdrawn account that the banks are willing to charge through the nose for....

9. I have a problem with the way that's worded ...
After saying that a Texas jury convicted DeLay of money laundering and conspiracy to launder money ... CONVICTED him, the next item is that "Delay is charged ...", no, DeLay is convicted. That's followed by "Prosecutors claim ... " when it should be stated that, "The jury agreed, or the jury found. Not "prosecutors claim."

Tom DeLay is a convicted felon, and not because of what any entity charged or claimed, but because a jury of his peers found him guilty of money-laundering and conspiracy.
