If a Republican were President that was somewhat like Bush*
only in our minds even more Conservative (worse) would we as Democrats consider the exact same strategy as Republicans. I mean consider stopping every single thing that that Republican President wanted to do because we thought it would destroy America.. Would that be an acceptable strategy for us to follow, or should we allow them their right by majority rule to try their policies and see where they lead. I understand where the Republicans are coming from. I don't agree by a long shot but I understand...What bothers me most though is all the empirical evidence is on our side for both Domestic and Foreign Policy..It is hard to wrap my mind around the fact they just ignore facts...They say Obama is a Socialist and wants to destroy America, so it is not only their job but their duty as loyal Americans to stop Obama's agenda at all costs.. I think I would feel exactly the same way if say Palin were to become President..How can this be anything but harmful for America?

1. The difference is
giving corporations all the power and the rich tax breaks has already almost brought down our country once, and that is their policy in a nutshell.

2. If the Dems had stood up to Bush and the neo-con policies prior...
our country would be stalled at 1980 - ie, no wars, taxes on the rich at 70%, no NAFTA or GATT, no Commodities Futures modernization act (no meltdown), etc.

The country would be just fine.
