I've been around here, mostly lurking, for many years. Since the first dark term of Bush, IIRC. So even though my number of posts hasn't topped 1000, yet, you can rest assured that I'm a kindred spirit.

I should tell you that I've been unemployed since January of this year. Going on 10 months, now. So your generosity isn't going unappreciated.

I've been saying since May "I'm going to have (a particular) job any day, now", but they keep screwing around and not hiring anyone. They've literally been ordered to hire 1000 people a year for the next two years, but the only thing that keeps happening is "nothing".

So, thank you. I don't quite know what a "star" does for me, but thank you for (apparently) donating to DU. You're right. It's a good site, and one of the best sources of breaking news around.

In my case, at least, you didn't waste your time or money.
