American citizens should not be subjected to such humiliation...
If you were born in this country and are a life-long citizen, you should not have to be x-rayed or "patted down" by any hoods from the government.

If you are flying into this country from Yemen, Somalia, Namibia, Pakistan, or other foreign country, then you should expect to be pulled aside and searched. That is the logical thing to do.

It is not a constitutional issue, in my opinion, because these folks are not citizens of the US or they are naturalized citizens. They should know ahead of time what to expect. YOU WILL BE SEARCHED BEFORE ENTERING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

But people that are born in this country and paid taxes their entire lives and served their country in the military, should not have to suffer such humiliation.

Just my opinion.

2. Call it profiling or whatever you want...
But most of the bombs attempted to be slipped onto airplanes were not on Grandma.

3. And there we have it. The basis of this outrage. USAnians are special and would never hurt anyone

Richard Reid was not a citizen, right? (He was one of our great allies, and he flew into the usa)

Timothy McVeigh wasn't either, right? (He was but he didn't fly)

Indeed, it sucks that we have to be searched like this, but not because we "are born in this country and paid taxes their entire lives and served their country in the military".

4. We will never be safe until they can do anal cavity searches...
Drop 'em and bend over and spread your big fat cheeks. Will the people be OK with that? They will keep taking more and more liberties until the people say no. When will we feel safe?

5. I wouldn't say that one is guaranteed that all bombers will be foreign.
Also, suppose another country said that. You know, Good Germans should not have to be searched. But if we go to Germany, we are foreigners - wouldn't it be their right to search us?

9. Which is why TSA spends almost all its time searching old ladies and men with medical conditions
Edited on Sun Nov-21-10 05:39 PM by CreekDog
because that's where the threat lies.

now they will be spending more time on them than before.

because that's where the threat lies.

or maybe it's just lies. :eyes:

11. Who knows where the next threat lies?
The element of surprise is what made 911 "work" for Al Qaeda.

So we just worry about Arab men 16-49. Then the next attack is by a 59 year old Arab man. Or a woman (already been done).

Or a hate filled white guy.

13. Old people with medical problems -
They could not possibly carry a bomb?

that's just not possible, why? Because they are old?

So old Arabic people, old muslims, old African Americans get the same conclusion right?

What is the cutoff age? 49? So no 50 year old could possibly be a suicide bomber, right?

15. I'm saying TSA is concentrating on people who can't get all the metal off their bodies
and this ends up being mostly older people with medical issues.

if folks can somehow get through the metal detector without metal, chances are they won't be screened too much further.

but people who can't get all the metal off their bodies (limbs, joints, medical devices) aren't trying to outsmart the metal detector, they need these things to live and TSA is almost WHOLLY focused on them.

i'm sure that's not TSA's original intent, or perhaps they watched that A-Team episode where the guy with the wooden leg had a gun and could shoot from it.

i wouldn't be surprised.

16. 9/11 was NOT a surprise. Bush received over fifty warnings
that there would be an attack 'on U.S. soil' that summer. What made 9/11 work, was the refusal of the Bush administration to act on the information people were desperately trying to give them.

How quickly we forget! And that is why they refused to have any investigation into the biggest crime ever on U.S. soil. Because they ignored the warnings.

During the Clinton administration, there was a similar and potentially more devastating threat, a plan to hi-jack a dozen or more planes, and fly them into several buildings around the country.

The reason that potential 9/11 did NOT work was because the Clinton administration did not ignore the information, acted on it, captured the plotters and we never even heard much about it.

You are falling for the lies and the propaganda.
