I have to preface this by saying I'm amazed and pleased about the

I've been enraged since the day I first read about these backscatter x-ray scanners and back then, I couldn't find any science to back their safety. Only that they were approved by the DHS (Whoo fucking hoo. Anyway, I'm wanting to know how the rest of you feel about these scanners:

So this issue really doesn't concern me. However, I have disliked the bemused nature with which progressives were taking TSA scanners. A lot of them here on DU didn't really seem to have a problem. There were a lot of jokes about them, and whatnot, what with everyone wanting to express that they were comfortable in their own bodies (what good progressive isn't?). But this issue goes a lot further than being comfortable in ones body, it has health concerns, and privacy concerns. You can go to a nudist camp and hang out all day long, that doesn't mean you necessarily want others to see your junk when you're about to fly on a plane.

I'm just glad, in the end, that I simply don't have to experience the draconian policies that TSA scanners represent. Also, you see so much more when you're on the ground, driving to your long distance destination.

I don't like it anymore and I don't think I would like it any more than I do now even if the TSA weren't trying to make it their own personal fascist playground. I blessedly rarely fly anymore and plan to avoid it from now on if possible.
