3. It isn't only Canada
My brother flies overseas regularly for business and the security personnel at overseas airports laugh at the farcical nature of the TSA and the sheepish nature of US citizens in general who tolerate it. For example, it's only in the USA that people have to remove their shoes. As for the latest outrage, it's just beyond the pale.

What all this TSA/police state really amounts to is de-facto "internal travel passports." The only people who will stand for it are those people "loyal to the Reich" and they will be allowed to move about freely within the country after being properly and, sadly, willingly stripped of their dignity. All others are effectively forbidden to travel unless they use another means of transport.

5. I made my husband cringe the last time we flew when I asked if this was a shoes off
airport or not. The TSA agent said all airports require that we take our shoes off. I told him he might want to check that assumption. And no, somehow, I didn't end up strip searched but it did nothing to ease my husband's worry about how I behave around the TSA. I usually just mock above their heads, not hard, really.

7. Wouldn't it be nice to live in a sane country?
As another poster said, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
