Remember that idiot who thought hunger was good for kids? Here she is on abortion:
Cynthia Davis has clearly never had sex

If Rep. Cynthia Davis' definition of sex is right, Plog has been doing it wrong.

Here's Davis, in her latest mass e-mail condemning the option of abortion for women in the military -- or any woman, for that matter:

Pregnancies don' t happen by accident. They happen by intentional acts between a man and a woman creating an irreversible, eternal, transcendental bond. You can't separate the body from the soul. For every baby that was conceived, there is a mother and a father who joined their hearts and souls.

Aw, Cynthia. That's actually kind of cute. Clearly she's never seen one of Nelly's music videos. But of course, the O'Fallon Loon's warm, giant heart goes ice cold in the next paragraph.

If your sacred, eternal, double-rainbow-shooting union was somehow not all it was cracked up to me -- if you were raped by a relative, let's say -- Davis still stands by her bread and butter "body and soul" morals.

Remedying incest with abortions revictimizes those woman. Those who are ushered onto the operating table are made available for more abuse. The men who coerce women to abort their baby treat these women like sexual objects or prostitutes.

4. She has 6 or 7 kids
One of them (a 2 year old) was found wandering down the middle of a highway on Easter Sunday a couple years ago.

5. Oh, what a responsible mom!
Yikes. That poor kid.

Obviously, losing her virginity didn't do all the good things it should have.

they believe that it is a woman's duty to please her man. Yeah, she has had sex, but she has probably never had SEX- if you catch my drift.

8. She is a capital C Christian. She and hubby have a Christian bookstore...
Prior to her public service, Rep. Davis and her husband opened Back to Basics Christian Bookstore in 1989, and was a recipient of the O'Fallon Business Association's "Business of the Year Award". She was elected to five consecutive terms on the O'Fallon Board of Aldermen and served as President of the Board in 1995. Rep. Davis and her husband, Bernie, have seven children: John, Benjamin, Cathryn, Matthew, Amanda, Susanna and Philip.

7. Ok, I get the first half
It's not like anyone ever said:

"OOPS! Sorry Betty, but it looks like I accidentally spilled my sperm all over your egg. MY BAD!"

It reminds me of those old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercials, where the guy on roller skates crashes into the girl on a bicycle, and they spill their goodie all over each other (Hey! You got chocolate in my Peanut Butter!)

But the rest is just insensitive to the point of being insane. The idea that all women are being coerced into abortion procedures by men is just nuts, and doubly sexist to boot. You'd think that there never was a woman who was able to make her OWN decisions regarding her body.

And that's what this boils down to. Whether Cynthia Davis has ever had sex or not, she clearly doesn't believe that women should be allowed to make their own life decisions, seemingly because she doesn't find them CAPABLE enough. Women need men to protect them from abortions, poor things.

Jesus f. Christ.

9. Actually, the first half is *very* problematic--
because the intentionality of the act isn't always present in both people. As in the case of rape and incest. She's "disappearing" victims in that. She continues to make them victims by assuming that they continue to lack intentionality in choosing an abortion--it's as if the idea of consent on the part of a woman as a rational actor totally eludes her.

15. IMO, "Accidental" and "Unintentional" mean two different things
but I can see your point, and the words are accepted as synonyms in certain cases. I was really just trying to poke some fun, because the imagery seemed ridiculous to me.

13. The "coercion" theme is quite common in ads for "Christian" women's clinics
Which always say they won't "pressure you to do anything", basically implying that places like Planned Parenthood pressure young women into having abortions. :eyes:
