Is bu$h threatening nuclear war?
Is it possible that is why the Congress gave him the money to continue to kill innocent people?

I have read several post today about the build up in the Persian Gulf and the the little monkey boy got up and talked about sanctions against Iran (deja vu 2003).

But the way everyone lately just caves it to his demands, is he or the regime using the threat of dropping a bomb?

1. On who?
Edited on Thu May-24-07 11:26 AM by HypnoToad
Iran? China? Poland (don't forget about them!)

Us?

Real war? Or a feigned one because we all know that a nuke war is irreversible to the environment and to the structures and technologies we've built and supported over the decades.

8. I really don't have any idea who
Would just the threat of using nuclear weapons be enough to get people to cave the way they have. Or did he threaten a nuke on American soil? I really can't fathom that but then we are dealing with the bu$h regime and Karl Rove would push for anything.

5. Condi said yesterday re Iran: "All options remain on the table."
That's all I needed to hear. The threat of military action is there and likely. Whether it means nuclear war, only BushCo and the parties who might be interested in responding know.

12. Today my local newspaper ran an AP story reporting Iran is ignoring the UN.
They're getting us ready.

16. I think what Iran is ignoring the UN on is the same as it ever was:
Their right to civilian-use nuclear power. The thing the corporate media loves to conveniently leave out when they talk about Iran "enriching uranium" is that there's ZERO evidence they're enriching it beyond 5% purity -- which is used to fuel reactors. 80-90% purity is required for a nuclear weapon.

But I can lay the whole despicable future of this out right now. Bush** will attack Iran. Tens if not hundreds of thousands will die, and we'll wreck the country like we have Iraq...only it will be done mostly with bombs and bunker busters, not ground troops. (Although I wouldn't be surprised if mercs show up.)

It will later turn out, on IAEA inspection, that the uranium had only been enriched to 5%.

9. and how would caving into his demands help this? when you
reinforce a bully by giving in to their demands, you only increase their power, their delusions of being king of the world-

when you give in- you sacrifice what you are called to defend- sell your 'soul' to * for what??? if he can threaten nukes to put people on their knees- what hope is left? Do you believe he will ever concede his power regardless of 'term limits'?? Why should he? All he has to do is make more threats????

11. Yes and he will do it
until we as a majority take to the streets to protest, until we effect some change through our strength, until we make our voice be heard....he knows that he can do anything he wants and get away with it. Because we LET him get away with it. Because he HAS gotten away with it. So until we rise up as a nation, he will do whatever he wants.

13. He is engaged in an enormous escalation, probably has nuclear plans.
He is going to keep the "game" going until he is forcibly stopped-either by a quick impeachment (of both he and Cheney) or a military refusal to carry out his orders. I believe his idea of a place in history is to be the meanest, baddest, "me against the world" leader in history. The guy who dared to bring on Armageddon.

We are up against Cheney's disastrous planning combined with Bush's eagerness to lead us into disaster.

My impression of Reid and Pelosi was that they have been confronted with the realization that the stakes are much higher than they had thought. Just as Dorothy once realized that she wasn't in Kansas anymore; they now realize that they are not in America anymore.

20. He's threatening the world with nuclear war. He's threatening Congress
with more anthrax or summary arrest and execution, I assume. He signed into law that Executive Order on May 9 that gave himself the power to unilaterally declare an emergency and take control of all state and federal executive powers, including shutting down elections, closing courts, etc. He will do so, I predict.

He always did say it would be easier if he were a dictator. Now he has laid the groundwork, and there's nothing anyone can do (aside from impeachment, which is still "off the table").
