How About An Unemployed March On Washington?
How about an unemployed march on Washington similar to the Bonus March by WW 1 veterans who demanded their bonuses promised for their military service during The Great Depression. This would shine a light on the problem of unemployment.

People need jobs. They are ready, willing, and able to work. And if this economy can't provide jobs there needs to be more unemployment insurance for the long term unemployed.

Folks need to take the "kick me" sign off their asses.

8. Exactly the same here.
I barely have money to get through the next few weeks, let alone travel anywhere.

3. recommend -- but one possibly dumb question
How can some of these folks who are using food banks etc., get to Washington?

Personally, I'd like to see some progressive groups really jump on this and get busses going, for the folks who can't afford to go. They need to be SEEN. And HEARD.

Maybe KO could put out something?

4. How about sit-ins all across the country at the same time? Maybe at Chamber Of Commerce.
OK, maybe not at your local Chamber Of Commerce, but you get the idea.

6. The only way this is happening
is for the currently employed to help with the transportation to Washington, DC. They'll also need to stay someplace safe, clean and warm while they're there.

We're not rich, but wow, if there was a legitimate national fund, I would be more than happy to squeeze out some cash so an unemployed person could go.
