DU is not the "best" site on which to discover important information about american politics. it's not Facebook, this isn't a popularity contest. grow up a bit, and recognize that there is hard work coming, and it's coming for *you,* kids. not an oldster like me. i'll be dead when they shut the internets off for the Little People. no, you young folk will have to face an ugly future with hard choices and even harder decisions.

yes, it's important to stay informed. no, DU won't always be here to tell you what to think, how to be outraged, why a TV show is "important." the neofascism that is barreling down at you? much, much uglier than any movie you've ever seen.

let me recommend some. that's how americans communicate, after all, via movies and TV.

I agree 100% with this OP, which led me to finally registering here.

This is the BEST site for news. I say this as a Canadian that has pretty fair news reporting, on the whole, in our country.

I still come here first - every morning.

Kudos to a great site.
