We underestimate the paranoia and hate on the other side at our peril

The right wing noise machine is making people crazy. Literally.

The left is failing to answer in folksy, easy-to-understand language. Most of the left's time and energy is spent trying to quash outright lies, while the truth sits dusty on the shelf.

I've ventured into enemy territory. It aint pretty. There are some seriously pissed off, deranged folks out there who act like they have nothing to lose-and that's a dangerous personality trait.

If we don't start acting like grownups and stop bickering between ourselves the other side wins. Period.

You are entirely correct that the other side is nasty and almost insane. The problem is that much our bickering comes from disagreements about trying to placate fear and ignorance.

There was a lot of dancing here a couple of years ago about how it was all over for the GOP, but they're back. This is a fight for blood and the right understands that and the left had better learn the lesson as well.
