Poll: Fewer than half know the GOP won the House
Pew Research: "While 75% identify the Republicans as the party regarded as doing best in the midterms, fewer than half (46%) know that Republicans will have a majority only in the House when the new Congress convenes in January. About one-in-seven (14%) say the GOP won both the House and Senate; 8% say they won just the Senate; 5% do not think they will have a majority in either chamber; and 27% do not know."

6. I wonder how many knew that they lost the House in 2006?
Or, to put it another way, what percentage has any clue who is in the majority or minority in the House or Senate at any given time? THe number probably is quite depressing.

9. There really needs to be a few questions that potential voters should answer before allowed to vote
Such as:
Who are the current Senators for your state?
How long is the term for a US Representative?
When are elections held for the President?
When are congressional districts redistricted?

12. More than half the population knows nothing about any given piece of information
Edited on Thu Nov-18-10 04:48 PM by MineralMan
I imagine. There are going to be a bunch of surprised infrequent flyers at the airports over Thanksgiving, I imagine. Lots of people have virtually no contact with the news at all. It could be half the population, actually.

So, not only will travelers arrive with big bottles of shampoo and conditioner, like they usually do, they're in for a few other surprises on this trip. I wish I could drop by the airport on Wednesday and see what happens. It's going to be very interesting.

13. and that 75 percent will probably believe the crap that
"the Democrats are controlling the purse strings (in 2011-2012), and that's why this country isn't able to get anything done!"

(aside from the fact that the Republicans will attach "make every abortion illegal" and "shoot gays on sight" legislation amendments to any kinds of legislation which could help the economy or non-millionaires ...
