Let's see, Grandma entered the country illegally around 1921. Under the proposed changes, I guess my Mom wouldn't be a citizen, so I wouldn't be!

I think my grandparents came in under a much looser laws. Would probably be considered illegal today.
If they were illegal, then my dad was illegal which must make me illegal? Think mother's parents were the same also.

10. I raalize that - just wanted to once again get a count of how many of us here

have near relatives who were undocumented aliens. If current laws had applied then, Grandma would never have gotten her citizenship.

so technically illegally, but she lived the rest of her life as her sister, so I don't know. Plus they would never be able to make the changes they want, because no matter how stupid Americans act, when It comes to the Constitution I believe and really hope america is more moderate.

As far as I know, they just took a train from Canada to San Francisco without bothering about their British passports or worrying about citizenship. I guess my mom solved any problem by marrying (one at a time) 3 different Americans.

I would be illegal along with one side's uncles and aunts and great uncles and aunts. All of those cousins, too. Fifth generation illegal immigrant.

Which is why it's insane. Even people who are for it aren't thinking about what will likely happen. We'd end up with more aliens than citizens in the country. Would that really be so great?
