After 9/11 we found ourselves being frighten into given up our freedom, our common sense, and our privacy.


We have laws that makes US citizens of the United States -who are just trying to live our lives--treated like and in some cases suddenly become criminals.


Reason and logic are thrown out the door.


We find that the government can still:

Wiretap us without giving us cause.

We have the freedom of information act being "land-mind" by the phrase "protected by National Security"

We are finding that Corporations are trying to undermined Net neutrality. (But one needs to wonder if corporations win and are allowed to make the internet pay-for-use. How much data will be compiled and eventually used against citizens by the government?)

Speaking of Corporations they seem to be all willing to collect our information and just hand it over to the government. remember At&T and all those other phone companies who collected all the information from us? They won we can't sue them! What's to stop the government from going to your employer or my employer and saying we need all the information you have on your employees?

We have a no fly list that seems to be used only to inconvenience those who speak out for what the government is doing or parents with children. To this day has anyone on the no fly list WHO WAS ACTUALLY A THREAT TO THE U.S. ever been stopped from getting on a plane?

We now have all these rules and regs to get onto a plane and pat downs and x-ray scanners which are another invasion of a persons privacy and yet we have people WILLING to go through that humiliation to get on a plane?

When people STOP using the planes when will we see these procedures to get on Amtrak or Greyhound?

When do we say enough already and start saying NO 9/11 is not going to be your magic word to fear me into doing something I've never done before.

When are we going to start saying no I'm not going to let a corporation have my personal data.

we've got to build it and make up for a lost generation. McCarthyism has certainly taken it's toll. We now find ourselves 100 years back in history - at war, economy in shambles, with most of the wealth concentrated in the hands of a few. Communists were very active here in the 1920s-30s - so much so that FDR passed the New Deal legislation in reaction to their efforts. Pretty much saving capitalism in doing so. Obama, on the other hand, has set up committees to cut social security and medicare. This can't end well.

Leadership. Its what we elect our people to do. Govern with the consent of the governed.
If the people do not like this, then our leaders need to change it. End of story.

If scanners and pat downs are still a part of the landscape in 2012, it will be used against the Democratic party. Leaders need to respond to the outrage NOW, not later.
