Montgomery recreation department moves ahead with finger vein scanners
Source: Gaithersburg, MD Gazette

Beginning in January, three Montgomery County recreation centers should be using biometric finger vein scanners to access members' recreation accounts.

2. Yeah but not as much fun as checking out full body scans
for attractive young ladies.

So don't expect the TSA to adopt finger vein scanners anytime soon.

3. Sounds good to me!
Assuming it's some sort of optical scanning device, it would be more convenient, cost effective, and environmentally friendly. I'm willing to risk the nefarious machinations of Big Brother with my vein patterns if I can carry one less piece of plastic around with me; I take my fingers almost everywhere.
