The truth behind the TSA scanners...
Edited on Wed Nov-17-10 04:17 PM by walldude
Look this is simple. This new breach of privacy is nothing more than another money making scam designed by members of the Bush administration who saw 9/11 not as a great national tragedy but as an opportunity to steal as much as they could.
Former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff is now representing the company that he gave the TSA scanner contract to while he was HSS. Nice how this works. Get a Government gig, give a company a contract, quit your government gig to join said company and reap the benefits from the gig you gave them.

Here is Republican Jim Duncan from Tenn telling it like it is on the house floor today.. Yes Republican, don't shoot me I'm just passing this along. Besides when's the last time you saw a Republican get pissed about the revolving door between government and the private sector...

7. Explains the situation well

These procedures are not about security, but about control. If people submit to these invasive procedures, what will people submit to next?

8. Good for Jim Duncan
What Duncan said took guts, considering the power of creeps including Chertoff, who is a biggie in the Republican Party.

My med prof pal is very concerned what the long tern effects of those scanners might be. Maybe an epidemic of thyroid and other cancers, he said. But of course cancers will be yet another profit for the 'for profit' health care corporations our Democratic House and Senate imprimatured and sealed into profitability with the 'Affordable Health Care Act'.

9. Apparently there's no revolving door policy?
My cynical side tells me that lowly government workers would get the ethics book thrown at them.
