Ignorance is bliss
It's tough seeing our democratic republic rapidly turning into a fascist empire. It seems unstoppable, as long as big corporations control the media. I wish that I knew less about what is going on in our country. I'd be happier.

We can spend our diminishing resources on political contributions. We can sign petitions. We can write about our plight online. And last but not least we can protest: But protests from the left will not be covered by the media. Nothing seems to be able to stop a very small, ultra-rich group, which controls multinational corporations, from turning America into a fascist state.

Not only Republican leaders but also several Democrats are puppets for the wealthy. More transparency in campaign contributions might help. A record $4 billion was spent on mid-term elections. Republicans were far better financed than Democrats. If the general public knew where most of the money came from, election results would have turned out differently. Media was barely interested in who was donating to what candidates.

Fox news is the worst offender but other news sources aren't far behind. The FOX "fair and unbiased" reporting organization contributed $1 million to a fund for electing Republican governors. Have you ever tried telling a right-wing voter anything about what they believe is a liberal media? Many choose to ignore the truth and believe whatever they see on TV or read in the newspaper.

They'd rather believe that illegal immigrants are stealing jobs than accept the truth. Our jobs were exported to China, where people are willing to work for a dollar a day, by Bush. Republican voters would rather believe that our economic woes are brought on by "entitlement programs" instead of multi-trillion dollar wars. These ignorant people aren't happy either, but at least they believe that happiness and prosperity are still attainable: I don't.

3. in these times, everyone picks a news source
that fits their worldview. Liberals watch MSNBC, RW's watch fox. Fox takes liberties with the truth in a way that MSNBC does not. Keith, Rachel, etc.. have opinions but they don't make up fake news stories like fox does. Fox had lied about ACORN repeatedly, for example ,as has fabricated a story about a new black panther group. MSNBC is sarcastic and makes fum or teabaggers, etc.. but doesn't fabricate stories and there's a big difference. So how do we force the truth out, jam it out in front where every body can see it? I wish i knew. There are some things that they have to show, however, in the course of giving the news, for example, if the President gives a speech or press conference they will show him at the podium. In my dreams the President would be wearing a lapel pin that says: "google this: Largest tax cut in American history". If he did, some people would google it. some in the press would giggle about it, say how awful it was that he would wear such a thing, but some would google it. People would talk about the lapel pin, how weird it is that the President would wear it, etc,.. but the bottom line is it would get people talking and inevitability people would learn something they didn't know. SOme of the "taxed enough already " crowd would end up confused and shaken with the knowledge that it was Obama, and not Ronnnie Reagan and not George Bush that gave us the LARGEST TAX CUT IN AMERICAN HISTORY. The MSM would be forced to admit it. The right would have some explaining to do to their simple followers.

4. A movement for truth in news reporting is required
Fox News needs to either be forced to tell the truth, or get off the air. But how to accomplish that? I have no idea. But I am shocked at the total dumbing down of the Faux Noise watchers - when I hear 5 million people turned in to watch Palin's reality show Alaska, I want to get off this planet.

5. Keep in mind
that at least 2/3 of those 5 million tuned in to mock Palin. At least that's what I keep telling myself, over and over and over again. It helps. Kind of.

6. I've decided...
keep donating to worthy causes. Keep signing petitions: Keep writing online: and keep protesting when I can find a march: We may be down but we're not out yet.
