If the message the Democratic party gets from this election is to
move right, then it's over for me and the party. At that point however, I would still like to be a member here because I'm anti-Republican. Will that be possible?

1. Or you can remain a Dem to vote in the primary, like me...

Unless you have an open primary and can vote for a progressive Dem regardless.

2. That would be what is of value that I would be giving up.
If I were independent, I could switch back that election to elect a progressive. I would have to check to see if the Democratic Party primary is open.

6. Yes, Florida Is A Primary State & You Have To Register To Vote!
While I've toyed with the idea of going NPA, there "might" be a time in the future that I would vote in a Primary. HOWEVER, I'm becoming more and more jaded by Florida voting and question the veracity of the results far too many times.

My gut tells me that Alex Sin REALLY did win as Governor, and the 60,000 vote difference has made me think twice as to whether it was finagled with enough to show a "close" race, but still having the "criminal" win. And a CRIMINAL he is... Rick Scott! I believe there have been even MORE allegations regarding him since his election, or appointment through the election process.

I don't LIKE feeling this way, but this is one really SCREWED up state for Democrats! Perhaps Karen Thurman is going to be replaced, but I wonder how much difference it will make.

Sorry, just venting a bit since I'm still very upset about what happened on 11-2-10!

7. Though I don't vote there right now, Florida is my home state and...
...the place I love the most - I too am heartsick over what happened there.

13. Yes, My Husband Was Born In Tampa & We Moved Here After We
we married in TX, where we were BOTH Army brats. While the summers can be brutal, and we mostly only have two seasons, Spring & Summer, the Sunshine State lives up to it's name!

Politically, not so much Sunshine! Seems to be getting worse each election too. And the county I live in (Sarasota) will NEVER even be PURPLE, always Ruby Red! Many celebrities have homes here and many, many tennis players too.

But, my income level isn't even close to so many that live here! Very rich white people for the most part!

3. Party?
If the Democratic party tries to move even further right, I'd say it's over for all of us.:banghead:

8. I wonder if the Dems
will come up with a comparable movement to the Tea Party. One with brains. I would love to send lefties to congress.

They're working to elect progressives.

14. Great - I have a feeling liberals are getting ready to launch a big initiative...
I just feel it - don't know what exactly it's going to look like.

15. I hope so.
This "waiting for Superman" is getting old. It's time we the people put some bite behind our positions.
