an election.

Than it's election "game face" and political rhetoric time!

Now is the time to finally put on the boxing gloves and act .... when it really matters and counts for something.

Don't you agree?

6. The lack of respect for the office of the President these people have is infuriating
considering how much THEY whined about people not respecting the office when *u** was in the White House.

Fucking Hypocrites

21. Actually, it is for THIS PARTICULAR PRESIDENT that they show no respect...
altho, as Jon Stewart pointed out Tuesday night, they did not exactly handle Clinton with kid gloves either.
Ironically, now they are praising Clinton. The repukes are total, unadulterated, sacks of pure shit..

7. They see a weak President and weak Democratic Party that they have on the run.

I don't expect them to let-up.

They taste blood.

Like an old trade union friend told me:

President Obama and congressional Democrats had the Republicans by the balls after the 2008 elections.

They didn't squeeze.

That made Republicans think the Democrats just liked playing with them.

12. And Obama is going to offer his jugular vein to these guys once
again by appointing Roger Altman or some other such right-wing pseudo-Democrat as his financial advisor.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-16/altman-said-to-be-a-leading-candidate-to-replace-summers-on-obama-council.html

And here is a short bio on this Trojan Horse:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Altman

Straight to you from The Roxbury Latin School, Georgetown and U. of Chicago via Lehman Brothers and the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group.

Oh, yes, and according to the Bloomberg article, he thinks corporate taxes are too high but personal income taxes are too low. Just to let you know whose side he (and Obama?) is really on.

When will Obama realize that he has to fight. There is no middle ground. He has to go to the people and get them on his side against the greed of the super-rich and powerful. If he can't do that, he should resign. Because the more he tries to compromise and work with the Republicans, the less respect they have for him and the less likely they are to work with him.

Obama seems to think that if he stands up for what is right and screams a bit, the Republicans will do something worse than they are doing now. No. Mr. President. It works the other way. You stand up and scream, and the American people will stand up and scream with you. Please. Please. Please. Stop thinking like a victim, Mr. President. You are not a victim. You are the elected leader of our wonderful country. Start acting like it, at least here at home.

29. Good point. If he agrees with them, I take back my vote.
For me, at this time it is just a matter of finding a real Democrat to vote for and support in 2012.

Jerry Brown is a real, sensible Democrat. He is hard-nosed and realistic and on the side of good government. Thus far, he has not been corrupt.

I want someone like him to run on the Democratic ticket in 2012. A hard-nosed, relatively fiscally conservative liberal. That's the kind of candidate I want. By that I mean, a liberal who cares about people but who is also realistic about the limitations of our economy. Someone who understands that people have eat and have clean water and air before they can go out and save the people in other countries. Someone who will close some of our too numerous overseas bases rather than cut Medicare or money for schools.

That's the kind of Democrat I want.

8. Now If The Shoe Were On The Other Foot And A Repug President.....
invited Dems over and they said they were too busy - what do you think the Repugs, the RW talking heads and Fox News would say about the Dems?

I am really personally offended that the Repugs were too busy to meet with the President of the U.S. and too busy to take time to - like adults and elected officials representing their constituency - talk about this country and try to work together.

The more I think about this - this is really and outrage.

I sure do hope that Obama has gotten the message.

He needs to take the gloves off. He needs to lead and govern. Damn the Repugs - Full Speed Ahead.

25. They have a history of doing this:
Senate Republicans Skip White House Afghan Briefing

"Senate Republican Leaders Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Jon Kyl (Ariz.) declined the president's invitation to be briefed Thursday on Afghanistan war policy going forward.

McConnell spokesman Don Stewart said that the invitation came yesterday and that the leadership already had a meeting scheduled with more than a dozen Republican senators. It was too difficult to rearrange all those schedules, he said.

In general, he said, McConnell has attended a number of briefings at the White House and will continue to do so. A White House aide said that Kyl and McConnell would be invited to a future briefing on Afghan strategy."

Top Republican lawmakers not attending State Dinner

"Most senators will be back in their home states during the holiday break, and few Republicans want to return to Washington for a party packed with Democrats. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell received an invitation but decided to skip the dinner."
